Erin Mallea is an interdisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon. Erin earned her B.A. in Studio Art and Art History from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 2012. Her work spans media encompassing photography, drawing, bookmaking, and public practice. Across these disciplines she explores identity, place, ritual, and the complexities of historicizing. Focusing on accessibility and intimacy, Erin is interested in work that shifts the economy of art-making and viewing into forums for personal communication. Because of this philosophy, working with artists and organizations to produce arts, community, and educational programming is an important component of her practice.
