Mary Campbell

Party like it’s 1999, mixed media, 2015

Mary Campbell is an interdisciplinary artist living in Portland, Oregon. She received her BFA in Printmaking in 2014 from the University of Oregon. Her work investigates painting, sculpture, installation and photography. Informed by a background in painting and printmaking, her work is concerned with color, form, pattern and mark making. Her bright and pastel color palette alongside a haphazard placement of found and crafted objects leads her viewer to a space of “play.” While the materials she uses are often recognizable, the objects leave the realm of the found through their relation to art making. By conjoining representational objects with painterly gestures, Mary entertains the viewer to form causal relationships with a nonsensical landscape.
